Thelma’s Demise

in Daily Farm Life,antics

It’s a lovely day here on the farm, although a little “airish.” And unfortunately way to wet from the soaking we received Thursday night for me to be in the gardens.

So what better time for me to work past my “block on blogging.” Here I am to torment any reader I may have left this Hallow’s eve with the ghastly story of Thelma.

Thelma was a young thing, grew up right here in the fields of Texas. She was a perfect specimen of a pumpkin not to big or small, a dark orange complexion with no blemishes, and a nice flat bottom. Unfortunately Thelma never reached her dreams of being a pie or celebrating this holiday with us…

Sadly, she was carved to early in life. After four days, Texas humidity had it’s way with Thelma; see the spot on her left eye or look inside her mouth “no, that’s not gum disease but nasty ol’ mold.” With only a happy smile and no health care there was only one thing to do with Thelma…

Candy Corn, anyone? Are you asking yourself is this a “Trick or a Treat?” Well that depends… this gal below says “treat” with a smile bigger than Thelma’s…

I hope you have enjoyed my wacky sense of humor and hope to share more of my farm antics in the coming days…

with love,
your goofy farmer!

Hooray, it’s so great to see you back and I love your new look of your site! Poor Thelma, but I am sure the pigs LOVED her selfless sacrifice!
